The corkscrew shells caught our fancy while we were walking on the beach at Vagator, Goa.

While I crouched down to take a picture of this shell, I sensed a wave approaching it.

And I clicked. In time.

Gokarna is a beach town situated just south of Goa, and is known for its beautiful pristine beaches, its mythological roots, as well as the regular flow of foreign tourists.

While walking on the Gokarna beach on the morning of Diwali, I came across this curious boy looking at a group of fishermen bringing in their morning catch.

Footsteps: Gokarna Beach

The Gokarna Beach, though not as famous as the Om Beach, makes up in the people there what it lacks in “terrain”. That day we found fishermen, riders from way up Delhi and way down south living in tents, foreign tourists reading old books, shacks that served awesome pancakes and mashed potatoes, a six-pole contraption which was decorated with rice-lights, presumably for the occasion of Diwali, and we hadn’t even covered half of the vast stretch of this beach!
